Why preview your SERP snippet
Google displays your title in roughly 580 pixels of space on desktop and your description in about 920 pixels. Characters beyond those limits get truncated with an ellipsis, which can cut off your most important information or create awkward mid-sentence breaks. Previewing before publishing lets you adjust word order, front-load keywords, and ensure your call-to-action is visible — not hidden behind "...".
Title and description best practices
Keep titles under 60 characters and descriptions under 155 characters as a general rule, but pixel width matters more than character count — wide letters like "W" and "M" eat more space than "i" or "l". Put your primary keyword near the start of the title. Write descriptions as complete sentences that give a genuine reason to click — avoid keyword stuffing because Google often rewrites descriptions it considers unhelpful. Including your brand name at the end of the title (separated by a pipe or dash) reinforces recognition in search results.
